Pandas Class is a year 2/3 guided semi-formal class of 12 children. We aim to provide a fun, engaging and sensory based curriculum. We largely follow a thematic approach where we link a theme across many areas of learning. We incorporate Communication, Literacy, Mathematics, PSED and PE into our everyday sessions. We also learn about our exciting topics through Science, Computing, Art, DT, Geography, History and Music. We aim to offer the children a breadth of life experiences through the cultural capital curriculum throughout the year.It is also important to us that we get to know each child on an individual basis and use their interests to drive their learning alongside the theme. We strive to make our children problem solvers and encourage our children to be resilient when they are faced with a challenge. Our children predominantly learn through sensory activities and purposeful play. Children have access to continuous provision that is based around their: interests, imagination and thinking skills. Children can independently lead their own learning as well as access our wonderful outdoor provision. We aim to bring the curriculum to life and ensure it is meaningful. Each child is valued in the class and we encourage children to respect each other through structured and free play opportunities. Independence is at the heart of what we do in our class and we encourage our children to be as independent as possible. We aim to boost their confidence and self-esteem so that they know they can succeed. We have high expectations of our learners at an individual level, as we believe they can do anything if they put their mind to it. The Pandas class are a happy class that love to learn!
