Literacy at The Birches
All pupils at The Birches will be given the opportunity to develop their Phonics skills. As a school we now follow ‘Little Wandle’, a phonics programme that is used to support children with their reading and spelling.
We also draw upon other approaches that may support individual children, for example ‘sight reading’. Foundations for Phonics supports our children who are developing their listening and attention skills.
