RE

At The Birches School, we include RE in our curriculum as far is as practicable for our wonderfully diverse range of learners. We teach RE through a variety of approaches including whole class circle time sessions, collective worship and assemblies, educational visits, and cultural event days. We take a cross-curricular approach, weaving RE learning into our Cultural Capital lessons to ensure children develop more of an understanding of the religions of the world.

Children across the school learn about the following RE content and celebrations in assembly:

Autumn term

Diwali, Christmas, Hanukkah and Purim.

Spring term

World Religion Day, St.Valentine's Day, Shrove Tuesday, Holi, Easter and Ramadan.
